Who: Keyboard Club is for ALL students, ALL methods, ALL ages and levels.
“Quarter Notes” are beginners, Suzuki or traditional Book 1, approx. age 3 - 6
“Half Notes” are Suzuki Book 1/early Book 2, traditional Book 1-2/equivalent, approx. age 5 - 8
“Whole Notes” are Suzuki or traditional Book 2 and up/equivalent, approx. age 7 - up
What: Group musical activities including theory games, listening skills, improvisation,
duets and ensemble playing, rhythm and melody activities, with the main focus
on performance. All parents are strongly urged to bring their students to
Keyboard Club, if at all possible; the group interaction is highly motivational!
When: Saturday mornings, every 4 to 6 weeks (except December) during the school year.
The beginner group will have one session for 30 minutes. The middle and most
advanced groups will meet for 45 minutes.
Dates: Saturdays in Sept., Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb., Mar., Apr., and May
(signup due one week before classes)

10:30 Whole Notes
11:15 Half Notes
More groups may be added if needed.
Where: St. James’ Church (Bartholomew Hall), Downingtown (address/directions below). The
advantages there are lots of parking (yay!) and space, restrooms, and central location.
Why: Music should be a group effort. Pianists frequently can feel isolated since piano
is many times a solo instrument, as opposed to other instruments which
typically play in groups. The classes will attempt to overcome this with fun group
Cost: $5/student, $9/2 siblings, $12/family (Quarter Notes $4/single student). Payable
with quarterly tuition fees in the quarter that classes fall into, or by signup dates above.
Additional info: Sessions will be filled on a first come basis; classes with fewer than 2
students signed up by deadline will be cancelled or combined with other classes; and the class
limit will be 8. Since this is a group class, missed sessions cannot be rescheduled.
Please plan to stay with your children at the class, for their own safety and the
church’s liability; I cannot supervise children taking bathroom breaks, etc., while
teaching. Address: 409 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. On Business Rt.
30 between Rt. 113 and Chestnut St., near East Ward School (opposite side). Parking in rear.
